Express Entry to Canada
What Is Express Entry?
If you want to live in Canada permanently while working a skilled job, Express Entry may be the best route for you. The Canadian Express Entry system is used by the government to analyze applications for potential permanent residents who qualify for economic immigration schemes. Using Express Entry, the government distinguishes applications from skilled and qualified workers. This lets Canada more efficiently process immigration requests from skilled workers who have a high likelihood of economic success. The system is designed to be quick, and 80 percent of applications are processed within six months. This makes Express Entry great for skilled workers looking to begin work quickly.
How Does Express Entry Work?
Eligible applicants qualify for one of the various programs managed by Express Entry. Those who are eligible then submit an entry and are issued an invitation to apply for permanent residence. If the application for permanent residence status grants a positive result, the applicant and their accompanying family members will receive Canadian permanent residence.
Preparing Your Documents
You will need documentation to show you are eligible for Express Entry. Language test results, work history and recommendations, your education background, and more all factor into the decision. Because some documentation takes a long time to receive, make sure to have your documentation ready before you begin the process.
Express Entry Programs and Eligibility
Express Entry manages three programs with unique requirements. When submitting your application, you will be asked about your age, nationality, family members, language abilities, work experience, education, and details about any job offers you have received. Your information needs to be as accurate as possible since your answers will determine which programs you may be eligible for. The forms take about 15 minutes to fill out. However, once again, make sure you have the proper documentation ready before beginning the process.
After You Are Found Eligible
If you are found to be eligible for Express Entry, you will be given a list of detailed instructions on your next steps (such as filling out an online profile). If you meet your requirements, you will be placed into a pool of candidates for immigration based on your profile. The information in your profile will be used to assign you a score in the points-based ranking system. Depending on your profile’s score, you may possibly be asked to apply for immigration. At that point, you will need to take the final step and apply for permanent residence.
Applying for Permanent Residence
If you receive an invitation to immigrate and decide to apply for permanent residence, you will be on your way to a new life in Canada. The Canadian government sends invitations to applicants who have the highest scores in the immigration pool. Any applicants who receive invitations to apply for permanent residence status are given 60 days to submit their permanent residence applications. The process from submission to acceptance is generally less than six months, meaning it does not take long between applying and beginning to work in Canada.
