Financial Assistance of $3,000 for Gazans in Canada
Canada has announced providing Financial Assistance of 3,000$ for Palestinians currently in Canada. It is stepping up to support Gazans fleeing the devastating conditions in their homeland by introducing new financial assistance measures.
This initiative, announced by the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, underscores Canada’s commitment to helping Palestinians transition to a new life in safety and stability.
One-Time Financial Assistance for Gazans to cover their basic needs
Recognizing the immediate challenges newcomers face, the Canadian government is providing financial support to Gazans arriving in the country. Each adult will receive a one-time payment of $3,000, while children aged 17 and under will receive $1,500. This financial aid is designed to cover basic needs such as food, clothing, and housing as families settle with relatives across Canada.
The payments will be distributed in stages, starting with individuals who arrive in Canada by March 31, 2025. To ensure smooth processing, newcomers are encouraged to apply for this assistance as soon as possible after arrival. Applicants must have a Canadian bank account to receive payments via direct deposit.

Fee Refunds for Temporary Measures
In addition to financial aid, Canada is refunding fees for temporary resident visa (TRV) applications and biometrics for Palestinians applying under special measures for extended family in Gaza. Those who have already submitted applications and paid the fees can expect refunds in the coming weeks, further easing their financial burden.
Minister Miller’s Message
“Our commitment to supporting Palestinians fleeing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza does not stop once they’ve arrived in Canada,” said Minister Miller. “Settlement support and this financial assistance are critical to address the immediate challenges that come with moving to a new country under such circumstances. We’ll continue advocating for the safety of everyone in the region while making sure that those who are in Canada have what they need to be successful in their new communities.”
