Atlantic High Skilled Program
Atlantic High-Skilled Program (AHSP) is a component of the Atlantic Immigration Pilot.
This plan allows eligible international workers with a job proposal from Atlantic Canada to request Canadian permanent residency. IRCC endeavors to process 80% of applications within 6 months. A candidate must have a business offer from a nominated company for 1 year under NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B to pass under this program.
Atlantic High Skilled Program Eligibility Requirements
To get eligible for this stream, you must follow these requirements for applying quickly:
Job Offer
Applicants must have a business offer that is:
- From an AIP-referred company in an Atlantic province.
- Full-time and non-periodically.
- According to NOC skill type 0, A, or B.
- Last for a minimum of 1 year.
- Made using the accurate governmental form.
The business offer of the candidate does not require the same profession as previous work practice. However, an applicant does need to satisfy employment conditions for the job, as seeded in the NOC.
Work Experience
You must have worked for a minimum of one year within the previous three years. It can be full-time or non-constant, as long as it continues up to 1,560 hours.
The job must be:
- In one profession, but can be with various companies.
- Paid employment and unpaid internships will not be counted.
- NOC skill type 0, A, or B.
- The practice can be achieved inside or outside Canada.
- Thus, you have fulfilled the tasks described in the main responsibilities of the NOC.
- You have discharged most of the major responsibilities stipulated in the NOC, including all the core tasks.
Education
Applicants must have:
- A Canadian secondary or post-secondary certification, diploma, or degree.
- An international degree, diploma, or trading education certifications.
- Applicants need an ECA to make sure it is legitimate and according to a Canadian credential.
The ECA must confirm your education is equivalent to an achieved Canadian secondary or post-secondary credentials. Your ECA must be 5 years old when you implement.
Proof of Funds
There is little help from the Canadian government in the financial aspect for the new immigrants. You must prove that you have sufficient funds to provide for yourself and any family members once the applicant gets into Canada.
To strengthen your application, there is a requirement to submit documents for a financial memorandum. Acceptable documents include:
- The last 3 months’ bank statements or the certification letter.
- Being able to show management of the account is mandatory proof of the savings balance.
- Deposit statements
This money cannot be borrowed from others; you should be able to provide for the basic needs of the family even if they will not be going with you.
These figures change depending on the family size, and they are reviewed, especially at the beginning of every year, for the required amount.

What are the steps to apply for the Atlantic High Skilled Program?
In the following, we’ll discuss the application steps for this program:
Step 1: Gather documents
To avoid any issues in processing, refer to the Document Checklist [IMM 5457]. The more critical documents would be the Offer of Employment form; translations of documents not in English or French; certified true copies; recent police certificates of the applicant and all dependents if over 18 years old; documentation against criminal convictions; and proof of payment for the open work permit holder fee. Be certain to provide all relevant information and documents to avoid delays in application processing.
Step 2: Filling Out the Application
Ensure accuracy by filling out all fields; state “not applicable” if applicable. Incomplete forms are returned and cause delays. Therefore, use additional pages if necessary for printing. Indicate the proper program, family members, language preferences in Canada, and living plans. Give full details of the principal applicant and dependents, including past addresses and language proficiency. Electronically validate the form and attach all necessary attachments to avoid processing delays.
Step 3: Pay fees
Avoid delays; pay the right fees. Application Fees: $1,525 (including the Right of Permanent Residence fee) or $950 if you do not need to pay the Right of Permanent Residence fee. Dependent child: $260; biometrics fees: $85 per person, $170 for a family. Use a valid email, printer, and credit or debit card to pay online. Print the IRCC receipt, attach one copy to your application, and keep the other. Only online payments are accepted. Be prepared for additional costs like medical exams, police certificates, and language tests.
Step 4: Mail the application
Mail your completed forms, supporting documents, and fee payment receipt in a 23 cm x 30 cm [9″ x 12″] envelope. The ongoing mail addresses for regular mailing are: PO Box 8900, Sydney, NS, B1P 0H1; and for courier: 49 Dorchester Street, Sydney, NS, B1P 5Z2, Canada. Attach sufficient postage and indicate your name, address, and ZIP code at the top left. Use a properly sized envelope. Affix the supporting documents appropriately. See to it that the envelope is addressed correctly with complete details, not to delay this.
