Occupations in Demand Nova Scotia
Occupation in Demand is one of the programs of the NSNP, a Provincial Nominee Program managed by the province of Nova Scotia. This program points out workers carrying a job proposal from a Nova Scotian business in an in-demand profession.
Nova Scotia has declared that this program will be operated as a three-year pilot program, throughout which the qualified professions will change. Targeted businesses will vary based on the labour needs of the province.
Eligibility Requirements For Occupations in Demand Nova Scotia Program
To get eligible for this stream, you must follow these requirements for applying quickly.
- Possess a full-time permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer in designated occupations, including NOC 33102 (Nurse Aides), NOC 65200 (Food and beverage servers), NOC 65201 (Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations), NOC 65310 (Light duty cleaners), NOC 73300 (Transport truck drivers), NOC 73400 (Heavy equipment operators), NOC 75110 (Construction trades helpers and labourers).
- Acquire a minimum of 1 year of work experience related to the job.
- Hold the appropriate training, skills, and/or accreditation for the specified position.
- Demonstrate language proficiency at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 4, irrespective of your first language being English or French.
- Verify adequate financial resources to facilitate a successful settlement in Nova Scotia.
- The applicant should be aged between 21 and 55.

Application Procedure
Candidates may join using the online portal on the provincial immigration website. Victorious applicants will be assigned a provincial nomination for continual residency from Nova Scotia.
Once a candidate has been nominated, they will be assigned a Letter of Support, enabling them to appeal for a temporary work license so they can visit Nova Scotia to begin work.
After obtaining a provincial nomination, a candidate has 6 months to present a governmental application for Canadian permanent residency. Candidates in this program must fulfill and present a paper-based request for permanent residence. Paper-based PNP requests for permanent residency are processed within 18 months.
