IRCC easing the process for refugee sponsor groups

IRCC Permanent Residence Portal has announced easing the refugee process for refugee sponsor groups by making it possible to apply by sending an email online without needing any paper applications.

IRCC will also make it available for some government-backed refugee referral partners by the end of this year.

This announcement was made to facilitate the refugee sponsor groups’ process and avoid any lateness in the paper applications. All you need to do is to submit your application and send it through email to the IRCC. also, this announcement was one of 6 recommendations made by the Office of Auditor General (OAG) report at the beginning of October.

This will also facilitate the process for refugee officers to concentrate on finishing the applications.

Also from IRCC’s efforts to ease the refugee sponsor groups’ application, they are collaborating closely with the Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP) and other partners to offer training and informational workshops.

The deadline for submitting your application to the permanent residence portal is the 31st of December, 2023. And the IRCC will receive emails till the first of January, 2024.
